Inspired by the beauty and personality of women from Andalucia, Spanish Beauty comes in two different versions. Besides the natural realism of the skin achieved through the warmth of gres, we have a version in gloss porcelain which is less realistic in the treatment. In the second version, the bluish tone used for the woman’s skin suggests that we are dealing with an idealized vision, perhaps an image of the muses that might have inspired such great artists as Julio Romero de Torres.
