Japanese Hina Dolls, delicately made in in porcelain, pay homage to the traditions and cultural wealth of Japan.
They were emperors during the Heian period, a time of peace and tranquility. A time of samurais, of poetry and art, in which the emperor and empress upheld traditions and behaved with courage, wisdom and kindness. With the passing of the years the figure of the emperors became a symbol of fortune and fulfilment, and for that reason during the popular Hina Matsuri festival held every year in March, newborn baby girls receive a gift of Hina Dolls, an emperor and an empress, to wish them a happy and prosperous life. This limited edition of 500 units, made in glazed porcelain, is notable for a decoration that conveys a sense of serenity thanks to the combination of warm earthy tones like green and terracotta with soft yellow, orange and cream colors. Equally noteworthy is the faithfulness and detail in the exact number of folds in the kimonos, the accessories and the decoration of the faces, replicating the costumes worn in the imperial court of the time.
