In the 19th century, wealthy young people would spend their honeymoons travelling through Old Europe. Italy was a destination full of classic art and romance. In ref.01350 Lladró portrays one of these couples, dressed in the fashion of their time, enjoying a ride in a Venetian gondola. Locating him firmly in Venice, Italy, the gondolier appears in the traditional striped shirt and straw hat.
