Limited edition, blue enamelled sculpture of the great dragon.

A symbol of power and prosperity in Eastern culture, this magical creature, the bearer of good luck, is the protagonist in this spectacular High Porcelain limited edition. The hundreds of scales covering its skin are individually hand painted in different shades of blue, which gives it a special shine and which is an extremely laborious technique requiring the expertise of the finest artists. The luminosity distinguishing its spectacular embellishment is attained by combining gloss and satin finishes. The complexity of the dragon´s shape and the great number of small details make the process of its creation extremely difficult, from the modelling of the original sculpture through to its final firing in the kiln.

Traditional Japanese good luck charm that symbolizes a desired goal.

For this first time, Lladró artists have taken their inspiration from traditional Japanese daruma. Traditionally made in cardboard, this talisman was then burnt in an act of gratitude once a desire had been fulfilled. Lladró’s darumas are made in glazed porcelain and symbolize both goals achieved and new ones yet to be set. For the decoration, it was decided to create a version in pink and another in blue, with touches of golden luster. Both versions boast painstaking floral ornamentation, etched by hand, and have the word for Happiness written in traditional Japanese characters.
