They say that when an elephant raises its trunk toward the sky, it brings good fortune. In Eastern cultures, it also symbolizes wisdom, gentle strength, and protection. This is the spirit behind Oriens Elephant, a High Porcelain creation that honors this sacred animal, crafted with the highest level of detail.

Unlike their African relatives, Eastern elephants have smaller ears, a distinctive trait that reveals their origin. This piece stands in a calm and poised position, with its trunk lifted in an auspicious gesture and its feet firmly grounded, conveying balance and presence. Its body is draped in detailed mantles, hand-decorated with floral engravings, scalloped edges, and a chosen color palette designed to enhance every detail.

The colorwork deserves special mention: 20 different shades are applied by expert hands with precision, enriching every surface with unique nuances. Shades of orange, cobalt blue, emerald green, lavender, and rose blend with golden lusters and iridescent finishes, adding visual richness. Highlights include orange-tinted porcelain tassels and garlands with golden bells hanging from the elephant’s neck and flanks, evoking the festive and ceremonial processions of South Asia. On its legs, delicate floral engravings continue the ornamental language, reinforcing a sense of movement and harmony.

Lladró has taken inspiration from the warriors of Japanese premodern era to create an imposing sculpture that expresses the qualities that defined these protective guardians: restraint and strength. Samurai Warrior is made of stoneware, an ideal material for large creations, and decorated with enamels. When crystallised in the oven, these pigments take on a wealth of nuances that are different in each piece, so that each figure is unique and cannot be replicated. The piece is completed by the decorators' work on the armour, the helmet and the saya, engraved entirely by hand.

This special edition stands out for its striking decoration, with a special mention for the golden luster combined with details in blue and red enamels. The hundreds of scales covering the dragon’s skin are minutely hand-painted one by one. The undulating shape of this complex sculpture is reminiscent of the figure eight, the number of good luck in oriental culture.
