Limited edition porcelain jar with figures and decoration in relief, with a wide range of greenery recreating the tropical hues of a virgin jungle paradise.

As if it were a canvas, the artists of the Lladró High Porcelain workshop have depicted on the surface of this jar - the largest created by the brand to date - an earthly paradise in a virgin forest. It is said that the Indians in the virgin forests of the Amazons have numerous different words to name the number of shades of green in their surrounding landscape. Lladró has also employed the most exotic greens in its palette to decorate this limited edition, which represents a landscape inspired by the collection of paintings by the French painter Henri Rousseau (1844-1910) dedicated to the portrayal of an exotic world full of dreamlike visions. What most stands out in this work is the complex treatment of depth. It is with good reason we have a vase with the most planes Lladró has created to date. Men and women rise up in relief in the first phase, followed by lush vegetation and animal species of the most varied species and origins. It is a paradise born of the imagination, with an extraordinary decorative and evocative power.

Lladró has taken inspiration from the warriors of Japanese premodern era to create an imposing sculpture that expresses the qualities that defined these protective guardians: restraint and strength. Samurai Warrior is made of stoneware, an ideal material for large creations, and decorated with enamels. When crystallised in the oven, these pigments take on a wealth of nuances that are different in each piece, so that each figure is unique and cannot be replicated. The piece is completed by the decorators' work on the armour, the helmet and the saya, engraved entirely by hand.

This special edition stands out for its striking decoration, with a special mention for the golden luster combined with details in blue and red enamels. The hundreds of scales covering the dragon’s skin are minutely hand-painted one by one. The beauty of women is enhanced by the imposing force of the feline. With this spectacular creation, the artists of the Lladró High Porcelain workshop contribute their own vision of a classic theme which has inspired great masterpieces. With a theme based on the Bacchae of Ancient Greece, later recreated by Renaissance and Baroque painters such as Titian, Michelangelo and Rubens, the temperament and sumptuous decoration of this sculpture reminds us of the painting, Bacchante with a panther (1855) by the French painter William Adolphe Bouguereau. The sensuality of this limited edition is accentuated by the semi-nudity of the woman and her very white skin. There is a contrast between this clarity and the decorative richness in the dark tones of her skirt and, above all, with the Panther upon which she is seated. The wealth of finishes, hues, backgrounds and textures is achieved through the combination of matte porcelain and complex enamelling techniques, all applied by hand.

This High Porcelain creation takes its name and inspiration from Le Marché aux fleurs, a beautiful flower market in Paris by the banks of the Seine, which opened in 1830.

Boasting a wealth of sculptural, floral and decorative details, this composition recreates a typical period scene and transports us to the idyllic romanticism of the 19th century. The rich fabrics, lace and colors of the ladies’ gowns are reproduced masterfully thanks to the painstaking work of the sculptor and the ornamentation team. Equally noteworthy is the floral decoration with around 800 flowers and leaves, of different kinds and shades, all handmade petal by petal. A work of romantic porcelain, which speaks of the ability of many Lladró creations to make us to travel in time.
